While waiting on Ryan Homes to catch up on finishing houses close to ours so they could move the red dumpsters, we visited the lot and saw that construction had begun on the space behind our house.
Here’s an original view:
And the new view:
In other news, over a week after our pre-construction meeting, we received a call from our SR who let us know that our lot had finally been staked! Truthfully, it didn’t look like much. We guessed the corners of the house, garage markers, and front door area.
More interestingly is how much our neighbors’ homes have progressed in a month. Our left neighbor appears to have a completed exterior now; most of the work over the past month was completed inside the house. The neighbors on our right, however, had only basement walls for almost two months, and in less than one, they have walls, windows, and a roof. Impressive.
To wrap this entry up, I’d like to share that they broke ground on our house on September 20th! FINALLY. Even though we literally began this process three months ago when we sold our first home, moved in with family, and did everything shared in this blog, it feels like a freaking lifetime. Seeing the first email from our PM was exciting. Only those who have been through a home building process know how wonderful it is to see a giant hole in the ground. Thanks to our PM for the photo below.
Estimated completion: Mid- to late-December, around 85 days
